A water cup made of stainless steel is more durable and safer than a water cup made of plastic. However, when I bought a stainless steel water cup, I found that there are several types, such as 304 and 314. So what is the difference between 314 stainless steel and 304?

314 stainless steel

1. Chromium and nickel content. 304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel. 314 stainless steel contains 19% chromium and more than 9% nickel. Therefore, 314 stainless steel has relatively high oxidation resistance and creep strength at high temperatures, and its application range is More extensive.

2. High-temperature resistance. The high-temperature resistance of 304 stainless steel is 800℃, while the high-temperature resistance of 314 stainless steel is 1200℃. 314 stainless steel is more resistant to high temperatures.

3. Purpose. 304 stainless steel is easy to process and has high toughness, so it has been widely used in small household appliances, furniture, food, medical treatment, industry, etc. Most of the stainless steel that people come into contact with in life is 304; while 314 stainless steel is used for furnace tubes, chemical equipment, Nuclear energy and other aspects are used, and the application of 314 stainless steel is more professional.

4. Price. The price of 314 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel is different every day, but the price of 314 stainless steel is generally more expensive.
